AGO beat Sprout to win ESEA MDL Season 33 Europe Finals and qualify for ESL Pro League Season 12, rounding out the list of 24 teams participating in the league.
The Polish side won the league over five months following their qualification for the playoffs, which were meant to take place on LAN at the Global Challenge earlier this year but ended up postponed to August amid the pandemic.
On the way to the title, AGO lost their opening bout with Sprout in the upper bracket final and went on to beat the only other attendant, Galaxy Racer, to go up against the German-majority side in the grand final. There, despite an automatic map disadvantage Damian "Furlan" Kislowski's side swept Sprout with relative ease on the back of big performances from the team's young duo, Miłosz "mhL" Knasiak and Maciej "F1KU" Miklas.
